Format

Each Trailblazers Junior Tour event is broken down into 3 age groups; each age group comprises of a Girls and Boys category, making a total of 6 categories.  

  • 5 - 7 years of age                
  • 8 - 10 years of age
  • 11 – 13 years of age

The eligibility by age shall be determined by the competitor’s age as of the 1st September 2012.

Each Trailblazers event is held over 9 holes. The formats for each category are as follows:

  • 5  - 7 years:         40 strokes are allotted for a 9 hole Flag Competition
  • 8 - 10 years:        9 hole Stroke Play Competition 
  • 11 - 13 years:      9 hole Stroke Play Competition

Handicaps are not required to compete in a Trailblazers event. 

 

Age Group 5 – 7

Each competitor must be accompanied both on and off the course by a responsible adult.

Upon completing a hole each adult and competitor should agree with the other adults and competitors the score for that hole and record the score on the scorecard provided.

No more than 9 strokes in total may be taken at any hole – if a competitor reaches 9 strokes for that hole they may progress to the next hole and record 9 strokes taken for the hole just completed.

After a competitor has taken their allotted number of strokes they should place their flag at the exact point at which the shot finished.

Any flags obstructing a shot may be carefully removed to allow the shot to be taken and then must be replaced in the correct position.

The winner of each category will be the competitor that reaches the furthest point around the course.

 

Age Groups 8 – 10 and 11 – 13

A signature of both the marker and the player are required on the score card before returning the scorecard to registration.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 juniors in each of the 6 categories.

 

Orders of Merit

Order of Merit points will be awarded to every participant. The Order of Merit points system can be found on the Orders of Merit Page.

 

Tour Championship

The top 11 players from each Order of Merit will qualify for the 2012 Trailblazers Tour Championship
